The ROOT Rural project has successfully completed its training workshop phase in Spain, marking an important milestone in the journey to foster a stronger culture of opportunity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in rural territories.
The final workshop focused on digitalisation and artificial intelligence, two topics that continue to generate significant interest among rural entrepreneurs, community leaders, associations, and local development actors. The high level of participation once again demonstrated the growing demand for practical knowledge and tools that can help rural communities adapt to emerging challenges and take advantage of new opportunities.
A total of 25 participants joined the session, with 15 attending in person and 10 participating online. This blended format allowed people from different locations to engage with the training and exchange experiences, ideas, and perspectives on how digital tools and AI can support the development of rural projects and businesses.
Throughout the training phase, participants explored a wide range of topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation, and opportunity creation in rural areas. More importantly, the workshops created a space for dialogue, learning, and collaboration between people who share a common commitment to the future of their territories.
With the completion of the training workshops, ROOT Rural is now entering a new phase focused on personalised support. In the coming months, participating entrepreneurs and project promoters will benefit from tailored mentoring and individual guidance designed to help them strengthen their ideas, overcome challenges, and move their initiatives forward according to their specific needs and ambitions.
However, the project is far from over.
Throughout the summer, ROOT Rural will continue its activities through the Opportunity Labs, where participants will work collaboratively to identify local challenges, co-create innovative solutions, and develop new opportunities for their communities. In parallel, the project will launch its Virtual Community on 1 July, creating a space where participants, mentors, experts, and rural changemakers can connect, share resources, and continue learning together beyond geographical boundaries.
These next steps represent a natural evolution of the project’s mission: moving from inspiration and learning towards action, experimentation, and long-term collaboration.
As ROOT Rural continues to grow, the project remains committed to changing the narrative around rural territories, demonstrating that they are places of innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and opportunity.
We look forward to sharing more updates, stories, and results in the coming months. This is only the beginning. more attractive, innovative, and future-ready rural communities.
