The Roots and Horizons | RootRural project is promoting two Opportunity and Co-Creation Labs on 29 and 30 September in Miranda do Douro, creating participatory spaces for reflection, dialogue and collective work around the present and future of rural territories.
The sessions will bring together entrepreneurs and rural stakeholders from Portugal and Spain, encouraging the exchange of perspectives, experiences and knowledge while exploring new pathways and opportunities for rural development.
The Territory We Dreamed Of
The first lab will take place on 29 September at 5:00 PM (UTC+1) at EcoMuseu Terra Mater, in Picote, under the theme “The Territory We Dreamed Of.”
This participatory lab invites entrepreneurs and rural stakeholders from Portugal and Spain to envision the rural territory of the future and identify pathways to turn that vision into reality. Cartaz Root Formacion
Beyond reflecting on current challenges, the session aims to create a space for dialogue and co-creation, bringing together different experiences and perspectives on the future of rural territories.

Science and Rural Development
On the following day, 30 September at 2:30 PM (UTC+1), the RIHU Coworking Centre in Miranda do Douro will host the second lab, dedicated to “Science and Rural Development.”
This participatory session will explore how science and knowledge can help address the challenges facing rural areas and create new opportunities for their development. Cartaz Root Formacion
The lab seeks to bring knowledge, territory and participation closer together, encouraging collective reflection on the role that science and knowledge can play in developing responses to the challenges faced by rural communities.
